Grade EN 1.3964

Material 1.3964 is characterised in particular by its non-magnetic properties, high tensile strength and yield strength, which are due to its high alloy content. Material 1.3964 is often used in seawater and near the coast thanks to its very good corrosion resistance. 1.3964 is also used in the construction of submarines.

We supply stainless steel 1.3964 from stock as cold or hot-rolled sheet, round steel, rings, discs or drawing parts according to your specifications.

Yes, material 1.3964 (X2CrNiMnMoNNb23-17-6-3) is largely antimagnetic. As it is an austenitic stainless steel, it exhibits no or only a very low magnetic attraction in its normal state. The magnetic permeability of 1.3964 is a maximum of 1.01 µm.

Due to its high alloy content, 1.3964 is difficult to machine.

The tensile strength of material 1.3964 is 750-950 N/mm².
